Flash On The Beach
Festival Titles

Completed in style. We are very pleased with the results of the work from the animation team Garth and Ginny. The Directing Duo created a magical show of character animation and story telling of which the FOTB Festival organisers were bursting with love and happiness.

1000 Ways To Die Promo

We completed a great promo for the team at Bravo, to promote this unusual show title. Using funny narrative based sequences, we constructed a set of scenarios based on safety signage. Garth put together some lovely character animation which brought the work to life.

MTV Channels
MTV’s Greatest Superstars

Rich and Terry came up with the idea of using a collection of ‘Star’ constellations. The visual was achieved by making multiple passes and renders in 3D using Maya, which provided the dynamic camera moves. The information was transferred into After Effects where all the elements were put back together, animated to the music and given a final grade.

‘The constellation captures the premise of the shows and music blocks perfectly, as well as feeling slick and standout’. ‘In short it looks ace and they’ve done a great job’. Steve Lewis - Head of Creative MTV.

Four Weddings

John Turner, Virgin’s creative producer shot back-ground plates of wedding scenes on 35mm film which was delivered to us to for the post work.
Claire and Garth tracked the footage using Mocha. The tracked data was then used to composite in our designs. In the end we had to completely replace the filmed cards, allowing us more control of the final look.
Compositing and final grade was done in After effects and Colour finesse. We delivered Idents, Menus and Bumps, which house the 2 shows in this zone.

Digital Music Festival

The Brilliant brains behind the LOOP festival have got us involved in the branding for this year’s event, which runs for three days in July. In conjunction with Accept & Proceed, Warp records, and OneDotZero, we are creating visuals for the big screen within the arenas and tents. Here you can see the Web viral we have just finished, which will be released onto the net this week. Watch this space for the next stage.

Cut&Paste Digital Design Competition
Peoples choice award - WINNER

Based on the theme ‘Good Luck’, this work was put together in front of a crowd of over 1000 people at a live event in London. Every element was made on site, and the completion of the animation was restricted to just 8 hours. Apparently it was one of the most nerve racking moments our creative director has experienced (and he’s done plenty of bungee jumps)! Music was kindly supplied by Apollo 440.

Fractured Films have asked us to inject new life into their core brand by re-designing their whole look and feel. The only thing that stayed was their font, which had too much history to be replaced! The rebranding is being created for print, screen, web, & merchandise.

ITV Creative
ITV4 Brand Film

A 60 second spot for ITV4 looking at their brand position. All processes applied with this work! Tracking every shot to then composite 3D text from Maya using Shake and AE. Once all the particles were finished it was then a case of embedding everything with subtle grading & comping. Hard graft has brought some great results.

AfterLife Installation Art

Homing in on our Visual Effects Abilities, Cogapp asked us to create a 4 minute film that communicates through texture the journey to the afterlife. The film was projected onto a huge marble floor where the user could interact with the video. Quite a different angle of work and we thoroughly enjoyed it! See it in the Newcastle Gallery. A video of the installation can be viewed on You Tube.

Armistice

Documentary titles and program graphics for this informative and eye opening documentary which takes a look at the end of the first world war from the Germans perspective! Amazing what you learn from working on Documentaries! great stuff.

Titles created in Maya and tracked in Boujou to match the camera move of the background. Maps and composites were done in After effects CS4.

MTV @ Liverpool Music Week
This hit the tv screens this week. Watch it on TMF, MTV & MTV2. Warmly recieved work for the guys and gals at MTV. We followed the print branding of the Awards and designed titles and packaging that dynamically reacted to the music. This retained the brand values whilst keeping it fun & interesting for the viewers.

Unbeatable Banzuke

Manga Madness with Brian Blessed.
Shot on green screen Brian was then composited onto a 3D character built in StudioMax. Using Cell shaders and cartoon effects the overall look reflects manga and japanese comics.
A lot of fun to make and even funnier to watch back!

Playing For The Planet
We have just finished the latest work for Disney. Environmental interstitials were made by us here at Artillery and the folks at Partizan, Studio AKA, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Bermuda shorts and Fold 7.

An amazing and fulfilling experience to be working on something with such substance. Very unusual yet motivating to be commisioned along with the other companies. Have a look out for the other films airing soon.

The Genius of Charles Darwin
A great 3 part Doc on Channel4 this summer. We were asked to produce titles, EOP and all inprogramme content for this 3 part series. To gain an over all brand we treated and effected everything including the rostrum work, which was filmed and then animated in After Effects.

A combination of historical grading and an
intellectual design layout brought this work a nice attachment to its subject.

Dexter
The first of hopefully many completed projects for the FX Channel. The brief was to create a promo ‘blip’ campaign, backing up the promo campaign. We had to inform the viewer of how long until the first episode by revealing the text through blood.

To do this in CGI was no easy feet, so we used a Fluid software called RealFlow, combined with StudioMax and some subtle grading to give a finished piece you could almost drink!?!
